Playin' Hoops...

Luke's new found love is BASKETBALL!!!!

He invited me to come outside with him yesterday to shoot hoops and a few pictures.
He specifically asked me to bring my camera!

This was a perfect opportunity to capture some of the "Defining Details" that are uniquely his. Some of my favorites...

those huge hands of his, his  fuzzy golden head, his tongue that is out during times of intense concentration ( Just like his dad ) and all those funny expressions that only his face can make.

I love seeing how tall he's getting and ....

how excited he gets at all his new found abilities.

Last but not least I want to always remember that precious 5 year old broken and brown front tooth smile!

Boys vs. / Girls Summer Fun!

My own little monkey's and their playmates have kept me on my toes over these past few summer months...no wonder it's been a few weeks since I'v posted anything here on my blog! I guess thats a good thing really...it means the weathers nice, my health is good and we have been actively living life!
Thank you Lord!

It's been a wonderful summer, full of many outdoor activities, road trips and just good old climbing trees and running through sprinklers in our own backyard!

Makayla spends most of her days "Hangin Out" with friends, just "Chillin" and doing what girls do! Talking.... doing their nails, talking..... roller-blading, talking..... riding bikes, talking.... swimming, talking....skateboarding, talking...sunbathing, talking.... doing each others hair, talking....dancing, talking...singing, talking....slumber parties, movies, treats and in between all the talking lots of giggling too! You get the picture!

What a joy these little LADIES are!

Then there's the BOYS in the Hood!

These guys are great and have become Luke's two side kicks this summer...yes their both older and have introduced our young one to all kinds of dare devilish stunts...one of which landed him in the ER just yesterday...(more on that later.)

Let's just say anything that has wheels and goes fast is what these guys go for... unfortunately these boys have not stayed upright on whatever contraption they have been on lately and they have all kinds of "Rad Scars" to show for it.

I think the long boards, skateboards, scooters, bikes, pool and trampoline would be considered Luke's favorites this summer. Now for some camping someday soon to finish off these last few weeks of summer fun in the sun..... I look forward to catching up on some pictures and stories as the fall and winter months settle in. I hope you have had a a wonderful summer and that the start of the new school year brings fresh blessings and new opportunity your way.
For now... enjoy summer while it lasts!

First Crush...

There's just nothing sweeter!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
A few weeks ago, after picking Luke up at preschool, he said -"Mama- I like Rachel, YUP- I like Rachel a lot...I'm gonna ask her to marry me!"
Well today was the big day!
Luke arrived to school with a bag full of valentines and something extra special just for Rachel. Makayla helped him pick out just the perfect RING! Just look at the size of that stone.
Yes....It's been a big week for the Totten Kid's!
Luke Purposed and Makayla was Purposed too!
Not sure if Rachel said "Yes", but I know for certain Makayla said "NO"! Good Girl!
Love is most definitely in the air around here...well at least for our little guy!

Day with my...Golden Boy!

Amidst the summer travel, my "Golden Boy" and I, made time to go to the lake together. This is the lake I was baptized in over 20 years ago...so it was an extra special outing.

He let this mamma kick back and relax while he did most the rowing.

I love the determination on his face.
It always amazes me how much God can speak to us through our children.

On this day.... through these images, I heard.... loud and clear!
"Press on...never give up, be determined and learn something new."

New fishing pole from a friend...

I just can't resist sharing this pics of the kids fishing in the Puget Sound. It just so happened that the ferry boat we wanted to catch was running an hour late and gave the kids a perfect opportunity to try out their new fishing pole given to them by a very sweet 6 year old boy just hours before. Amy-your little guy is such a sweetie, what a nice gift.

Luke was so proud to catch some seaweed!

Christmas in Thier Eyes

The true meaning of Christmas is seen in a child's eyes.
Just look at the wonderment...

I can only imagine what these two dream of when they see all the lights,

glitter, packages and treats.

My prayer for all children is they would find the blessed meaning of Christmas to be the most Glorious of all!

To Celebrate the birth of our King!

Merry Christmas Nelson Family..thank you for the opportunity you have given me to document the growth of your precious children throughout this past year.
Sharing our LifeSong through word and image...
